My 3rd Book “Without 3 Miracles Darwin’s Dead!” is HERE.

In Charlie Liebert’s first book Always Be Ready to Give an Answer! He developed an effective personal Christian evangelism strategy to get past unbelievers questions and present the Gospel in all Christian encounters. After one of his spiritual mentors had asked, “Well, shouldn’t you answer the questions?” he wrote his second book, ANSWERS For “The Hope That Is In You!” It answers more than 100 questions commonly asked by unbelievers to stump or silence Christians. Charlie says: “As I was finishing ANSWERS … I realized that although I’d compared Creation and Evolution in that book, I had not shown the IMPOSSIBILITY of Atheistic Evolution. So now my third book, Without 3 Miracles Darwin’s Dead!  has the potential to change many minds about the viability of Evolution because “Science Proves Atheistic Evolution is IMPOSSIBLE!”

In bearing testimony for Christ, through my web page, and in my roles as a teacher, seminar, and workshop leader I’m often asked: “Do you believe in Evolution?” I answer: “No I don’t!” Then I get responses like: “Why not, it’s proven by science?” OR “The evidence for it is overwhelming!” OR “Only ignorant or closed-minded fundamentalists don’t believe it!”  I even get that kind of reaction from some who call themselves Christians. In “Without 3 Miracles Darwin’s Dead!”, I am taking a hard-nosed position saying to ALL who will listen; “Atheistic Evolution is scientifically impossible because it breaks three scientific LAWS.”

If you understand science you know scientific laws CAN’T remain laws if they are broken.  Evolution flagrantly violates THREE of them!  The First and Second laws of Thermodynamics and the Law of Biogenesis.   To break a scientific law, you need a miracle, and Atheistic Evolution cannot allow any because of their rejection of the supernatural.  I call these three miracles: Magic, Frankenstein, and Uphill Molasses.  Magic is the appearance of something from nothing, a violation of the First Law.  Frankenstein is the emergence of life from non-living chemicals which, violates the Law of Biogenesis which says: “life ONLY comes from life and ONLY from life of the same kind.”  The 2nd Law says the Universe is irreversibly running down.  Evolution is always gaining complexity in conflict with this law.  Adding energy to a system requires intelligently designed machines to increase complexity.  It’s like molasses running uphill against gravity.  In addition to the three required miracles, we’ll explore other issues that contribute to Evolution’s impossibility.

  • Evolution is NOT science; it’s a faith statement about the past!
  • The missing links between apes and men are ALL still missing,
  • There are some creatures whose behavior, design or incredible complexity Evolution cannot explain by natural processes.
  • The history of Evolution contains many frauds, and I’ll highlight two of them.

How do Evolution proponents address these issues? Denial, rationalization or just plain lying! They can’t answer these problems, and they know it. Science Proves Atheistic Evolution is IMPOSSIBLE!” Evolution has damaging effects on our culture and wastes resources that could be used to improve health and living conditions in the US. Millions of tax dollars are spent on evolutionary research that will NEVER bring value to humanity. It’s a waste of resources based on a lie.

God’s Judgment in Noah’s Flood.

In the next several weeks we’ll be focusing on Noah’s Flood described in Genesis. Recently some Christian leaders are promoting the view that Noah’s Flood was a “local flood” in the Mesopotamian region of the Middle East. The Scripture is clear; Noah’s Flood was worldwide to fulfill God’s intention was to destroy all land-dwelling, air-breathing living creatures outside the Ark. Genesis 6:7-8. So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man, and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I’m sorry that I have made them.”  But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

The actual results of His judgment are recorded in Genesis 7:11-23 In the six-hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened. 12 And rain fell upon the earth forty days and forty nights. 13 On the very same day Noah and his sons, Shem and Ham and Japheth, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them entered the ark, 14 they and every beast, according to its kind, and all the livestock according to their kinds, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, according to its kind, and every bird, according to its kind, every winged creature. 15 They went into the ark with Noah, two and two of all flesh in which there was the breath of life. 16 And those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him. And the Lord shut him in.

17 The flood continued forty days on the earth. The waters increased and bore up the ark, and it rose high above the earth. 18 The waters prevailed and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the face of the waters. 19 And the waters prevailed so mightily on the earth that all the high mountains under the whole heaven were covered. 20 The waters prevailed above the mountains, covering them fifteen cubits deep. 21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, birds, livestock, beasts, all swarming creatures that swarm on the earth, and all humankind. 22 Everything on the dry land in whose nostrils was the breath of life died. 23 He blotted out every living thing that was on the face of the ground, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens. They were blotted out from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ark.”

Note how many times the word “all” is in this passage. There would be no reason to spend the significant effort to build the Ark if Noah could have fled to another region to escape the flood. The flood must be worldwide because God’s judgment on the Earth was complete. Anything less than worldwide would be incomplete and make God a liar. Also, God’s promise to never judge the world by water again would have been broken many times in local floods like Katrina, in New Orleans. Next week I’ll be on vacation. I’ll pick up on 7/28 with Noah’s Flood timeline.

Worldviews and the Uniqueness of Christianity PART 2.

This BLOG is from Chapter 4 “The Uniqueness of Christianity” of:Always Be Ready to Give an Answer!” Last week we saw the three different views of Mankind’s position in this world: 1) God’s not relevant, and death is final. 2) Non-Christian religions escape death by human efforts, and 3) Christianity, God rescues man from death. All three worldviews answer the same question: “What happens to us when we die?” Christianity differs from all other worldviews and religions in a stark way that all humanity is helpless and hopeless in defeating death. All are condemned to Hell by both their nature and action.

The History.

God placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden with the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil to test their love and obedience. By not eating from the tree, they could continually demonstrate love for God as an act of their will. They had the choice to not love by disobedience, so they had true free will. God warned them that eating from the tree would have the consequence of death. When Adam ate from the tree, he brought the curse of sin and death to all of the creation. Adam’s spirit died immediately. His body entered the process of dying, but it would be some time before he would physically die. It’s as if God said: “You will begin to die (spiritual death), you will continue to die (aging), and eventually, you will be dead (physical death).

The Dilemma.

The entrance of sin meant all children of Adam and Eve are guilty of this rebellion by both birth and personal practice. We are born sinners, and we sin by intent daily. All mankind is dead in their spirit and will not seek a relationship with God, hating God by nature and practice (Read Romans 1–3). The situation is entirely hopeless. All are destined to Hell, and no one can do nothing to stop their death. If this were the end of the story, Christianity would be the most hopeless religion because there would be no way to escape death. We are all lost, condemned and hopeless, so God alone can provide a solution.

The Good News.

Now, the good news of the gospel! God himself came to earth as Jesus, the perfect man, also called the second Adam. He was not born by the natural process but rather miraculously conceived in the virgin’s womb. As a result is not a son of Adam, and does not inherit the sin nature. His spirit is alive. Jesus lived a perfect life obeying all God’s law and then sacrificed himself to pay the sin debt of some of mankind. Since people will not seek God because they are dead, God himself has to awaken them, to hear the call to receive the payment of their debt made by Jesus. It’s called substitutionary atonement. One life traded for another to satisfy justice. Lazarus in the grave is a great example! See my earlier blog: http://wp.me/p6OUE6-1y

LESSON: Christianity is unique in world religions because it alone teaches man is dead and will not seek God. God alone can provide escape from death and only through Jesus Christ

Christianity’s Uniqueness Among Other Religions, and Worldviews PART 1.

This BLOG is adapted from Chapter 4 “The Uniqueness of Christianity” in my bookAlways Be Ready to Give an Answer!” In spite of all of these worldviews and religions there are only three different views of Mankind’s position in this world and his possible rescue from death: 1) God’s not relevant and death is final. 2) Non-Christian religions escape death by human efforts, and 3) Christianity, God rescues man from death. All must answer the same question: “What happens to us when we die?”

God’s not relevant and death is final. Atheism, agnosticism, humanism, and materialism take the position that God may or may not exist but, if he does, he is not relevant to human behavior. They all believe mankind will evolve to a better state without aid from a deity. Evolution from microbes to man is the foundation of these views. Their answer to “What happens when we die?” is simply: “We are extinguished and no longer exist. There is no afterlife.” Atheists, agnostics, and humanists that understand this fully may take their own lives as they age because of the trials of aging and the hopelessness of this view. They ask, “What’s the point of suffering the painful aging process?” This view is bad news only! There is no good news here, only extinction and nothingness! There is no purpose or meaning to life in these views! As Christians we can see the hopelessness of this view clearly because we have the “good news” of the gospel.

Non-Christian religions escape death by human efforts. In all world religions Including cults like Mormons or Jehovah’s Witnesses some form of human effort, with or without divine intervention, is required to achieve reconciliation with God. It is some kinds of good works or keeping ritual practices by human effort that provides redemption to escape death. Most world religions recognize the fundamental flaw in mankind (sin) and find a way to deal with it to escape death. BUT we all know no one escapes the Grim Reaper. They rid their adherents of this curse by some form of religious rules, rituals, practices, etc. Man is able to rescue himself from death. In some religions, it may require the help of a deity, but human effort of some kind is the key. In Hinduism, for example, you go round and round in reincarnation until you achieve Nirvana. In Islam, die a martyr and you get to heaven and get 72 virgins. In Judaism, one lives as close as they can to God’s law and you might get into heaven if you’re good enough. Christianity holds a very different view. You are condemned and cannot do anything to escape the consequence of dying. Next week we’ll explore the uniqueness of Christianity.

Conclusion: Non-Christians hold two views on God and redemption.   Either God is not relevant OR reconciliation with him can be achieved by some human effort. Christianity is VERY different! Man is incapable of doing anything to escape death, God must rescue man.

The Absolute Laws of Science Refute Atheism and Materialism.

You’ve heard Your Atheist, Humanist or Materialist relative or friend say: “I only believe in what I can see. Faith is for fools! The only reality is the material world. There is no supernatural! Everything is relative! There are no absolutes!”

Our world is full of people that deny the supernatural. They make explicit statements about the world and act as if they were questions because they are looking for a response from us.   In the last two weeks, we explored immaterial opposites and history to demonstrate that people who claim they only believe in the material world believe in many things that can’t be sensed. Today we’ll look at the third of these, non-material arguments, absolute scientific laws.

Absolute Scientific Laws

I: “I only believe in what I can see. My five senses tell me all I need to and can know. There is no supernatural; only the material world exists. Faith in something you can’t see is foolish.”

Me: “Do you believe in gravity, the laws of aerodynamics, or thermodynamics?”

I: (Affirms.)

Me: “Do these laws change?”

I: “I don’t know.”

Me: “Have you ever seen them change or know of any time or place they did?”

I: “No.”

Me: “Then we can accept they don’t change. These laws are absolute. The universe has some scientific laws that don’t change.”

I: “But there may be a place in the universe where they do change.”

Me: “That’s an argument from silence and is faulty logic. You are begging the question!”

I: “Okay, there are laws about the physical universe that don’t change.”

Me: There are also rules of morality that don’t change, as we saw above when we talked about justice last week. Your belief that everything is relative is false. There are absolutes in both the physical world and in morality. You agree to believe in things that can’t be sensed, you accept the testimony of others about events you didn’t experience, and the now you agree the universe contains absolutes that are always true. Your view of a purely materialistic reality is false. What you believe about the world isn’t true! None of the things you said you consider to be true are true. You have a worldview that is inconsistent, illogical, and false. I say with confidence; you need to find real answers to your view of reality. My Christian worldview is real, and demonstrable and it contains good news and bad news. First, the bad news: There is a God, who created all things, sustains all things and brings justice to all things. That justice carries a sentence that includes your death and condemnation. No human can escape death! You’re lost and without hope when you stand before that just God! Now the good news: God has provided a way to satisfy his justice, not by anything you can do, but by believing that Jesus paid the debt you could not pay by dying on the cross. Reconciliation to God takes place when you put your trust in Jesus.

Atheists, Agnostics & Materialists have FAITH because they believe History.

These statements are easy to answer and often provide an opportunity to present the gospel. Materialist declarations challenge Christians to spar verbally. Don’t shy away from them; they will give you a chance to share the Gospel.

In the United States today there are many people, even in churches, who believe these materialistic imperatives from Atheism, Agnosticism, Humanism, Materialism, and Marginal Christianity.   All of these worldviews are described in “Worldviews and Religions” from the book Always Be Ready to Give an Answer!

Last week we explored immaterial opposites like hot-cold, wind, and light-darkness to demonstrate that people who claim they only believe in the material world believe in many things that can’t be sensed. Today we’ll look at the second of these non-material arguments, the Historical Narrative dialogue. Our whole understanding of history is based on others writings and experiences and not on our knowledge. WE believe in history by faith in the ones who communicated it to us.

Historical Narratives

I: “I only believe in what I can see. My five senses tell me all I need to and can know. There is no supernatural; only the material world exists. Faith in something you can’t see is foolish.”

Me: “Do you believe George Washington was a real person? Did you ever see him? You only have the testimony of books written by other men.”

I: “Of course.”

Me: “Do you believe there was a Roman Empire? Do you believe two world wars occurred in the twentieth century?” (You can use as many examples as you can think of, just don’t use any events that happened during the person’s lifetime.)

I: “These things are historical events I know happened.”

Me: “You only know about past events that you didn’t witness through the testimony of others. So, you trust in something you did not see. Do you concede you believe history through the testimony of others?

I: (Affirms.)

Me: Then let me tell you some history. The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ are the most documented events of all time. If the stories about Jesus were not true, we would know because men and women don’t sacrifice their lives for a lie. Besides the testimony of history, we have two-thousand-plus years of history to affirm Jesus’ saving power.” (Give a short testimony.) “What about you? Do you believe Jesus lived, died, and rose from the dead to bring you salvation?”

The material in this blog is from the first chapter in my book ANSWERS For “The Hope That Is In You.”

Atheists, Agnostics and Materialists have FAITH because they believe in things they can’t sense. Immaterial Opposites

Immaterial Opposites

Last week I introduced the concept that even the staunchest faith denier believes in things that are beyond their senses. Immaterial Opposites is one. Here’s dialogue to illustrate.

Atheist Inquirer: I only believe in what I can see. My five senses tell me all I need to and can know. There is no supernatural; only the material world exists. Faith in something you can’t see is foolish.

Me: So, you only believe in things in the world you can see, hear, feel, smell, or taste? Do you believe in darkness?

AI: Of course.

Me: There is no such thing as darkness. Darkness is the absence of light, but it does not exist by itself. How about the wind? Do you believe in the wind?

AI: Of course.

Me: The wind itself can’t isn’t seen; only its effects. Do you believe in cold? Cold is the absence of heat and is defined by heat. We measure temperature as heat; there is no scale to measure cold, just heat or lack of it.

AI: Many possible responses.

Me: How about good and evil? Neither one can be measured or sensed, but we know it when we see it. How do we know? Is there a human conscience?

AI: Many possible responses. (At some point in this dialogue he/she is going to ask, “Where are you going with this?” or “You are frustrating me.” So now put the pieces together.)

Me: So you do believe in many things you can’t sense. Darkness and cold are descriptions of opposites of things we can measure. We observe the effect of wind, and can measure it, but don’t see it. Evil is the absence of good, but what’s the source of good? Is morality written inside of us?

Me: A person is a professional thief. He earns his wealth by stealing from others. Now you take his wallet. How does he react? ‘Hey, what’s wrong with you? You took my wallet! That’s not right.’ What? You steal for a living, but if I steal from you it’s wrong? Why are my stealing wrong and yours okay? Yes, morality has absolute standards.

Your children do something wrong so, you confront them. They immediately look guilty but fabricate excuses or lie to escape consequences. The Family Circus cartoon depicts this behavior with the semi-invisible character “Not Me.” If you deal with children, you know all about “Not Me.”

If you accept the concept of evil, you also accept justice. Bad behavior deserves punishment. Is your behavior just the response of chemistry and electricity in your brain? What is the source of those moral ideas? The Bible teaches that every person has a built-in conscience that knows right from wrong and will bring guilt when violated. Good and evil is another immaterial concept you know and accept. Even the staunchest materialist has to accept many intangible things that can be defined but not sensed or measured. Immaterial Opposites is the first of the three flaws in materialism’s beliefs. Next week, Historical Narratives.
